Following their feast of the night before, the Golden Boys’ priority at first light was to find water to quench their immense thirst. Once the scent of water filled their nostrils from some distance away, their pace quickened until they reached a gravel point in the marsh where they could lie down and drink from the cool, calm waters that reflected their impressive size and the warm morning light. Interrupted by the sight of wildebeest and zebras in the distance, the brother with the longest mane briefly pondered another meal, although with a still-heavy belly, he soon began drinking again.
